The Rules
FISHERY RULES
Please take a moment to read through these rules before your visit. They are in place to ensure the safety of both our anglers and the fish. Failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion and/or legal action.
GENERAL RULES
● Parking: Please park only in designated spaces within the car park.
● Access Codes: Do not share your entry or exit codes with anyone outside of your group.
● Equipment Transport: We recommend using a barrow to transport equipment to your swim, as driving is prohibited beyond the car park.
● Rod Safety: Anglers must never leave rods unattended while fishing.
● Accompaniment: Anglers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
● Licensing: Anglers aged 13 and above must hold a valid Environment Agency rod licence.
● Guests: Guests must be members of your family and registered at the same time as your fishing ticket purchase.
● Dogs: All dogs must be kept on a lead and under control. Any waste must be cleaned up and disposed of properly.
● Fish Handling: Fish caught must remain on-site and must not be removed.
● Drones: Drone usage is strictly prohibited unless prior permission is granted by the fishery.
● Wading: Wading in the lake is not permitted.
● Boats and Bait Boats: The use of boats or bait boats is allowed.
● BBQs: BBQs are only permitted in designated rest areas.
● Cleanliness: Please dispose of all rubbish appropriately and leave your swim clean and tidy.
● Toilets: On-site toilet facilities are available for your use. Kindly maintain cleanliness.
● Lighting and Noise: Keep lighting to a minimum at night, and be considerate of other anglers by limiting noise.
CARP CARE RULES
● Carp Care Kit: Always carry a carp care kit to treat hook wounds, should any be observed.
● Catch and Release: All fish must be returned to the water promptly and unharmed.
● Unhooking Equipment: A landing net and padded unhooking mat are mandatory for every angler.
● Damaged or Dead Fish: Any fish that is injured or deceased must be reported immediately to the fishery manager.
BAIT RULES
● Live Bait: The use of live baits is strictly prohibited.
● Bait Provision: The fishery provides approved bait for your convenience.
EQUIPMENT RULES
● Rod Limit: A maximum of two rods per swim is permitted.
● Equipment Condition: All equipment must be dry before arriving at the lake, and the dip tanks must be used upon arrival.
● Hooks: Only barbless hooks, with a maximum size of 6, are allowed.
● Rig Restrictions: Fixed rigs are prohibited.
● Line Restrictions: Braided mainline and leadcore (whether leader or line) are not permitted.
● Landing Nets: A minimum 42” landing net must be used.
● Line Strength: The minimum line strength allowed is 12lb breaking strain.
● Unhooking Mats & Nets: Landing nets and unhooking mats must be used at all times when handling fish.
● Bite Alarms: Keep the volume of your bite alarms to a reasonable level to avoid disturbing fellow anglers.
